I Have Championed The Adoption of New Digital Platforms & Software and Performed IT Tasks.

I have been involved in helping direct or guide the nature of internal/external communication & collaboration at Finegold Alexander. I think we are approaching a generational divide in what people are expecting out of their physical and digital work environments. Additionally, I have done research to inform the firm's software purchases as well as performed a basic IT role at FA.

Research & Testing

I have researched and tested various communication and collaboration platforms, assessing them for their utility and value for FAA and the type of work that we do. I have tested how these platforms can facilitate automation of common work tasks.

Firm-Wide Collaboration

I have been a strong advocate of pushing staff members to online collaboration & communication platform. I personally believe that the Finegold Alexander as a whole will benefit from increased usage of tools like Basecamp and Microsoft Teams, and I have continuously worked to make it more appealing and useful to the staff.

Task Automation

I have sought to automate repetitive tasks through tools such as Zapier and Microsoft Flow. I have developed a series of forms to automate requests relating to BIM management. I believe there is a lot of potential for reducing time spent by architects and designers in day-to-day practice by making use of digital automation tools.

Production Software Research & Testing

I've researched, tested, and made suggestions for various software which may increase efficiency in FA's current production workflows or provide capabilities the firm currently don't possess. For example, I've strongly advocated for the purchase and implementation of Autodesk FormIt for early phase design modeling.

For example, I've strongly advocated for the purchase and implementation of Autodesk FormIt for early phase design modeling. The reason this has been a priority for me is that I believe there is value in defining a clear project modeling pipeline. Having a clear modeling process from initial concept massing through to documentation facilitates the creation of ancillary workflows to use for visualization, extracting data, or even just providing a consistent basis of quality among the staff.

Support Interactions

I've interacted with technical support, on behalf of the firm, with companies we have purchased products from and/or have service contracts with to perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades.

Server Maintenance & Cloud Storage Solutions

I've periodically assisted in cleaning out the local file server and identifying sources that are consuming the most resources.

I've researched cloud storage solutions for when we need to move beyond the local file server and participated in the discussion about how to implement this transition at FAA. I've tested various cloud storage products and workflows to see what may be a good fit for Finegold Alexander.
